Connecting a Caring Community

The Snoqualmie Valley Community Network is a special district authorized by the state to address population-based health behaviors.
Since 1994, the Volunteer Network Board, their staff, and community partners with the Healthy Community Coalition have assessed, built capacity, facilitated planning, implemented strategies, and monitored outcomes related to youth substance abuse and youth suicide. In its 6th year of a Drug Free Communities Grant, the Network is "creating a caring community" to influence social norms to reduce substance abuse.
The Network facilitates an annual Key Leaders Summit, Youth Councils, organizes a Leading the Future you want to see youth conference, coordinates parenting education, recognizes outstanding volunteers, and presents health outcomes to the community.
Just as there are identified risks and protective factors for heart disease, identified risk and protective factors in the home, schools, community, and peers influence our children's health choices. The Network helps support and coordinate community leadership capacity to promote health through effective strategies to make the Snoqualmie Valley a supportive environment. contact:
